BSIF - Working Together in Safety

Service Award 2008

Are you proud of the service you give your customers?

Would you like to know, independently, how your customers really rate you? As a whole or if as a multi-branch distributor, branch by branch.

Do you feel your company and its staff should receive significant recognition for the work they do?

Then enter the BSIF Service Award 2008.

No matter which sector of the market you serve, good customer service is essential to win and retain customers.

  • Distributors supplying End Users,
  • Manufacturers supplying Distributors,
  • Test houses supplying Manufacturers,
  • Professionals consulting to Users

If you have customers, you need to be supply them efficiently, supported by good customer relations using innovative systems, to keep up and ahead of the competition. But how do you know if you are leading the market or trailing behind?

Well the BSIF Service awards 2008 can help.

To enter, just send us a contact list of 5 customer companies with contact names and E-mail addresses and we will send to them the enclosed questionnaire for completion. All the names and contacts, plus the individual results will be kept highly confidential. The only result we will publicise will be the winner of each category.

But (providing the customer allows us) you will get the individual results from each of your customers and because we are independent, the feedback is likely to be what your customer wants to say, not what he thinks you may want to hear. So no one else will know, since only the winners will be announced.

How will we judge it?
Using the 5 categories enclosed, we will ask your customers to rate you on a scale of 1 – 20 for each category. Using the returns, we calculate an average score out of 100 from each entry and the highest average score wins. In the event of a tie, there is a two stage process. The winner will be the company who gets the highest overall ‘Service level’ marking in category 3 & 5 or if this is still a tie, the results will be referred to the independent panel judging the BSIF Innovation awards for 2007 who will adjudicate a final result.

So what’s in it for you?

·  The Presentation of the Service Award at a high profile Champagne reception to be held at Safety & Health Expo 2008 in May.
·  Major publicity across the Safety Press and a substantial mention in the next BSIF Guide, which is now circulated to 25,000 potential customers
·  The opportunity to use the title in subsequent publicity material to show the world how good you really are.

And of course it will help you meet you commitments to ISO 9001

What do you do now?

Please submit to David Lummis (david.lummis@bsif.co.uk) no later than the 14th March 2008, a list of 5 customers (plus the persons name and E-mail address) you would like us to contact. If you are a multi-branch operation, please ask each branch to submit a list of 5, clearly stating their branch location. We will then do all of the rest and feedback your individual results (if we can) when the survey closes.

All details will be treated highly confidentially. We will not release customer details or results to any other party.

The cost? Well if you are a BSIF member, entry is free. For non-members there is a £95 administration charge.

You really cannot lose and look what you can gain. It couldn’t be easier to enter and you could find out if you are as good (or as bad) as you think.
