‘Safety Excellence' is new series of awards for 2008. They are based upon submitted case studies of existing and specific safety activities which have created improvements in the occupational safety of organisations.
The entry should be from the supplier of a service or product, supported by the company who have experienced the occupational safety improvement. These awards are presented to each entrant who, in the opinion of the judging panel, has meet or exceeded the criteria of the BSIF Safety Excellence Award. All information supplied in the entry of this award will be treated as confidential and only pre-agreed detail will be released in the event of an award being made. The award is limited to one entry per company.
Judging Criteria
- Has the product or service contributed to a quantifiable and significant reduction in accidents / health incidents within this situation (outlined by the case study).
- Has the product or service significantly and quantifiably reduced total acquisition costs, whilst maintaining or enhancing safety / company performance.
- Has the product or service quantifiably enhance the health and safety understanding / culture of the users, such that these are now core to working practices.
- Has the product or service significantly and quantifiably improved the availability and useability of safety, health or related equipment .
- Has the product or service meet the key criteria of the user, such that its has enhanced the companies overall performance. (i.e Corporate Clothing, Safety Signage, Training)
Entries must meet a minimum of 2 of the above criteria to qualify and quantifiable results must be presented. Significant means an improvement of 10%+.
