All members have the right to use the BSIF member company logo on their products or literature.

Arbitration & Conciliation
This service provides members with a low cost alternative to legal action where members are in dispute with suppliers or customers. It is managed by independent professionals skilled in the resolution of these type of problems. Contact BSIF Secretariat on 01745 585600

Accreditation Schemes for Safety Service Providers.
BSIF Enterprises is working, along with other agencies, on market sector accreditation schemes. These are designed to ensure individuals carrying out complex safety tasks are both knowledgeable and capable of successfully fulfilling their role. Contact BSIF Enterprises on 01442 248744

Business Centre
As the lead association, BSIF is able to access business support facilities and a wide selection of contacts for the benefit of members. Items such as media and exhibition services, financial services, regulatory information, specialist training needs, legislation etc can all be readily accessed. Chemical Handling
Provided by the HSE, this service is designed to provide simple guidance on the steps needed to protect the health of workers from a range of chemicals used in the workplace. Info via the HSE info line on 0207 717 6000

This site is aimed at employees and includes details of their employer’s responsibilities and details of how accidents and incidents should be reported. Info via www.hse.gov.uk/workers

Exhibition Support
Whatever your needs BSIF can help. 

Health & Safety Expo Birmingham. We are able to offer special rates to members, backed with meeting facilities and assistance with stand design. Health & Safety Regulations
The BSIF is often directly involved in pre-consultation activities and meetings with the HSE. Whilst these meetings are run by the HSE and thus no guarantees of involvement can be made, interested members may gain access, representing BSIF’s collective interest.

Legal Advice
The BSIF legal hotline provides 30 minutes legal advice free of charge on any one issue through a choice of specialist solicitors in Occupational Safety matters. Access is through the BSIF Secretariat on 01745 585600

Networking Events
2007 /8 will see enhanced opportunities for all members to network with their colleagues in the industry. This years Networking Day will be reformatted to create more time to informally meet your colleagues, whilst the very senior managers of each member will be invited to Directors Club functions. The Directors Club will host luncheons with leading industry and business speakers. Finally we will be hosting Golf Events to offer cost effective ways of meeting your industry colleagues and entertaining customers.

Political Lobbying
The BSIF has developed highly efficient lobby facilities for members to access individually or collectively. These can be directed towards UK and/or Government departments.

The MP’s All Party Group on Occupational Safety

Professional Relations

Standards Making Committees
The BSIF is able to nominate any member onto Standards Committees through the British Standards Institution. Members need to be aware that this facility extends to only three representatives on each committee by each BSIF association and in some cases, this is managed through an electoral system by individual associations. Stock Exchange
This new service from BSIF enables members to buy and sell stock, inter-industry, to facilitate selling slow-moving items and excess inventory.
